According to Essien Ndueso, the Special Assistant to the Akwa-Ibom state Governor on Media, an Akwa-Ibom man opted to ‘swim to the great beyond’ in a fish shaped casket.The man posted that with the caption: “Could it be that the man loved eating fish,or he was a fisherman or came from the great ‘Iyak’ family? I witnessed this scene on Nwaniba road this morning around St Luke’s Hospital. Note, I didn’t say the man turned into a fish o, I only saw a fishlike casket. Perhaps my friend Uwemedimoh Umanah who owns a fish farm and also loves fisherman soup can explain this better why a man would choose to swim to eternal glory. Rerun: APC has declared war on Rivers State; they are garrison commanders – PDP

The Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress of declaring war on the people of Rivers State over the rerun election. The party leader said the recent call by the APC chairman, John Oyegun that its supporters should “ slap anyone that slaps them “ was a declaration of war by the leaders. It also described the presence of the top echelon of the APC in the state on Thursday at its mega rally as uncalled for.
