Tragedy struck in Gidan-Filani village of Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State, when a man identified as Umar and his son, Abubakar, lost their lives while digging a well.The incident occurred when the duo were working in a well they planned to convert to a borehole. Narrating the sad occurrence, an eyewitness who did want to be identified said the wall of the well collapsed while Abubakar was working inside it.“ The well had reached at least nine feet when it suddenly collapsed while Abubakar was working inside and he drowned.“ Following the development, Umar also went into the well with the intention of rescuing his son and he also failed to come out,” he narrated.  The Secretary of the Tippers Association inthe state, Alhaji Abu Maitifas, said the lifeless bodies of the two men were later retrieved by the men of the state Fire Service.

A 42-year-old plumber, Idowu Lasisi, has been arrested by the police in Lagos State for allegedly molesting two of his daughters s*xually. The victims are a 15-year-old Senior Secondary School 1 pupil and a 19-year-old. The girls lived with their father in the Ketu area of the state.Sometime in 2015, Lasisi allegedly r*ped the elder sister, who fled home after the incident. The mother was also said to have separated with the plumber because of the incident and relocated, leaving the pupil and her 10-year-old sister in Lasisi’s care.Lasisi, who was arrested on Wednesday after the victim raised the alarm, started having s*x with the pupil last year. Very controversial blogger, Journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, says she has been chargedwith cybercrime for her post about Pastor David Ibiyeomie. Olunloyo, who was arrested by the police on Tuesday, said in an Instagram post thatshe was driven to Port Harcourt and detained in a prison there after the pastor complained that she had defamed him in the post. She confirmed that she had posted a letterfrom one of Ibiyeomie’s church members, levelling allegations against the pastor. The Nigeria army has revealed that it lost five personnel during a Boko Haram attack in Magumeri, a town in Borno state.Sani Usman, spokesman of the army, who disclosed this on Friday, also declared three officers missing in the attack which happened late Wednesday.
