[Gist]: QUEEN OLUSOLA ABISOYE OGUNNOIKI VISITS AMALMATA FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Queen Olusola Abisoye , the reigning
Miss Comely Queen Southwest, visited her amalmata, federal College of Education, Model Secondary School Osiele, Abeokuta on 21st of June 2017 , to sensitize the female student about breast cancer.


The beauty queen who got crowned months back and has been focused on media breast cancer campaign decided to take a step further by visiting secondary schools in states within the southwest geopolitical zone.


Queen Olusola said her reason for reaching out to these adolescents is the fact that the stage of adolescence is a stage of habit formation and she believes that these young girls can inculcate the habit of Breast Self Examination (BSE)


and perfect the procedure over time,
and since BSE is key to the prevention of breast cancer, it is important to “ catch them young “. The program with the theme “ PINK RIBBON ” was able to reach out to over 180 female students and teachers.



The lecture was delivered by an experienced Nurse anaesthetist,
Mrs Sanni Fadeke who was able to educate these females about breast cancer , the dangers, warning signs, as well as the prevention.


The program was supported by the
rotary club of Iponri. Queen Olusola is one to look out for as she says she is just getting started.

Rerun: APC has declared war on Rivers State; they are garrison commanders – PDP

The Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the All Progressives Congress of declaring war on the people of Rivers State over the rerun election. The party leader said the recent call by the APC chairman, John Oyegun that its supporters should “ slap anyone that slaps them “ was a declaration of war by the leaders.
